Exodus 18:25 NIV

"He chose capable men from all Israel and made them leaders of the people, officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens."

"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: " (Ephesians 4:11-12 KJV)

SERMONETTES

Bishop Vinson L. Williams

In 1955, the late Reverend Betts (pastor of St. John Baptist Church in Jonesboro, AR) spoke words of prophesy revealing God’s call on my life. In March 1957, responding to God’s call, I was filled with the Holy Spirit while attending a revival meeting at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in East Chicago, IN under the leadership of the late Elder William Blakely (who was later ordained Bishop). Being a skeptic, I could not stop speaking, rejoicing, or dancing! It was in 1969 at Faith Temple that I received my minister’s license.

In 1978, Kenneth Hagin Ministries hosted a camp meeting in Tulsa, OK. The speakers were Fred Price, Kenneth Copeland, John Osteen, Norval Hayes, and Fred McKnight. After attending this powerful meeting, my ministry took off. I had yearned for reality and vital New Testament experiences that went beyond the realm of knowing in a merely superficial sense. I wanted to know the Love of Christ, which went beyond knowledge.

I was ordained an Elder of the Church of God in Christ in 1980. During that time, I attended St. Paul Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Elder Lester Kinsey. Shortly thereafter, the Holy Spirit led me to teach Bible studies in the home of Brother Robert and Sister Rose Dawson. In November 1982, we held the first Believer’s Fellowship Church service was held at Chase Elementary School in Gary, Indiana.
