Minister Pascal (Pete) Abel

Pete Abel grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Wood High School. After graduated from high school, he attended Purdue University and graduated from there with a B.S. Degree in Math. Pete became a Math Teacher at Horace Mann High School in Gary after graduating from Purdue. He taught a couple of years in Gary and returned to teach in his hometown Indianapolis for a couple of years. In 1968 he became associated with State Farm Insurance Company and is currently a State Farm Insurance Agent in Gary.

Pete's Spiritual Wa1k with The Lord begun as a teenager in Indianapolis when he confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined South Calvary Baptist Church. As he grew into manhood, he continued his Wa1k as a member of several other Baptist Churches. While a member of Zion Baptist Church in East Chicago, he felt a need for more spiritual growth and became disenchanted with denominational religion. He had discovered that some denominations put requirements on their members that the Bible did not require of them. He also discovered that you must become acquainted with the Bible for yourself (Timothy 2: 15) and not rely upon entirely upon what is said from all pulpits. Discernment of what is Truth comes from study of the Bible and the Holy Spirit!

He became a member of Believer's Fellowship Church in 1983 and was later ordained by Bishop Williams in 1987 as an associate minister. He became a member of the Church Board of Directors in 1995.

Pete has been married for over 40 years to his loving wife, Linda, father of two daughters, grandfather of seven grandchildren and great grandfather to one great granddaughter. He is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Alpha Chi Chapter of Gary, Indiana.
