Ecclesiastes 1:12-14 NIV

"I devoted myself to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven... I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind."

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV)

Borderline Christians
Bishop Vinson L. Williams

12/31/2006  - To be or not to be? That is the question. Borderline Christian you're neither in nor out, where are you? They can never make up their mind who are they going to serve - God or Satan. They haven't been fully persuaded to come out from the world and not to look back like poor Sister Loti in Sodom and Gomorrah. After looking back one last time after the angel of the Lord brought her out of the sinful place she was in, disobedience caused her to turn into a pillar of salt.

The question has been raised; are there such a thing as carnal Christians? The Word of God answers very clearly that it's impossible to put the two together and please God. To be carnal minded is walking according to the flesh. But to those of us who are in Christ Jesus, we walk according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh - i.e. they are obsessed with the things of the flesh - which are the things of this world; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Scripture tells us that anyone who loves the world, then he has not the Father in him. But those of us who live our lives according to the Spirit, set our minds on the things of the Spirit.

The Spirit and the flesh are contrary to one another. If the Fruit of the Spirit is operating in your life -love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, then we who are Christ's have crucified the flesh. (Galatians 5) The Word of God tells us that to be carnally minded is death and enmity against God-which is hostility towards God.

Now you see, you by no means can you please God. So, no, there is no way carnal minded people and Christians could ever be placed together. You're either one or the other, there is no in between. You're not even considered to be a babe in your Christian walk, because you're not Christ-like. A babe is unskilled in the word of righteousness and partakes only of "milk," for they are not yet on "solid food" where their senses are not exercised to discern both good and evil.

When you walk according to the Spirit, the Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit and affirms that we are the children of God, then heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ.
